CLA Volleyball plays its first ever home game versus its CLA Alumni!!

Thursday , October 1, 2015 will be remembered as  a triumph both in CLA and OMSD History as the CLA Sports Program played its first ever and quite possibly the OMSD's first every alumni game!!

The game featured returning CLA graduates and volleyball standouts, Manuel Novoa, Roger Uriostegui, Zeke Hernandez, Adrian Rios, Aaliyah Melchor, Sarahi Verdin, Danya Hurtado, Mireyda Nunez, and joining the Alumns were former football team members Adrian Alvarez and Bryan Mendoza!!

The atmosphere was a buzz as the returning CLA Volleyball stand outs were out to prove why their 3rd place finish in the OMSD Volleyball tournament last year was no fluke!!

The first game showcased the talents of both teams, past and present, but experience proved to be too much for the young CLA Volleyball hopefuls as they fell to their older counterparts by the score of 25-22.

Coach Kathy Keene hoped to give her Tiger team a much needed competitive practice game as she nearly played all of her squad in the second game.  The CLA Alumni were taking no prisoners as they routed the present Tiger team to take 2 consecutive games, the match and bragging rights!!  The CLA Alumni were more than happy in playing one more game to give the current Tiger Volleyball team extra practice as they head into the home stretch of the season and the OMSD Volleyball Playoffs!!

What a great day it was and what a great time was had by everyone in attendance!! Thank you to all of the family and friends of the CLA Volleyball team and CLA Sports Program for coming out and supporting our teams today.  A special thanks goes out to CLA Volleyball Coach, Kathy Keene for making this game a reality and for CLA Sports Team Moms, Carmen Torres, Oliva Soto and Rosa Sainz and Team Dad , Mr. Torres for helping with the nacho bar and pizza and snack sales!!

Go Tigers!!!!
