Did you feel the earth moving yesterday afternoon?!  Well, it wasn’t the earth’s tectonic plates releasing seismic energy; it was the one and only, Denise Alvarez putting on a defensive exhibition against the girl’s basketball team from Edison.  Denise’s defensive ferocity was contagious.  CLA teammates, Bella Bonnett and Mia Rodriguez quickly got into the defensive action as they also ended up on the floor wrestling with Edison’s star player, #6, Marissa.   While Denise led the defensive attack, she also poured in 2 baskets, Bella scored 2 baskets and free throw, her sister, Gianna, scored 2 free throws, and Jasmine Jacinto (JJ), scored a basket which was enough to outlast the team from Edison by the final score of 14-6.  

The girls are still in the play-off picture but will need to win their last 2 games versus Vernon Middle School, on Monday, December 7th ,  and Vina Danks Middle School, on Thursday, December 10, both games at West Wind Community Center.

We wish the girls good luck as they head into the end of the season.
